The mission of Johnson County RFD #1's      
firefighters is to "Provide the citizens with      
an environment that is safe from fires,
environmental hazards and life threatening
medical emergencies through educational    
and fire prevention activities. To prevent     
loss  of life, to minimize damage and loss       
of property, and  to control all fires to        
which we are called. To render aid to those
that are missing or exposed to possible
injury or death. These will be accomplished
by continually reviewing and upgrading our       
services, technological capabilities, and         
by harnessing the energy, creativity            
and professionalism of all members               
of our department."
